Going, Going, Gone: 2015 The Travel Year in Review

All Hail Tucson
In January I went to Tucson for a memorial service/family reunion. The reunion was held in a park full of sun and warmth. I can’t get enough of Tucson now.

In February I went on a business trip to Nashville. There is good boot shopping there and tons of live music. It may not be my music but any live music (well, most) has its charm. Stayed in a cool Hotel Indigo downtown. There is a full replica of the Parthenon near Vanderbilt University. Pretty interesting to see Athena with makeup.

In March I went back to Nashville, and to Charlotte on business. I can’t say I remember anything distinctive about Charlotte. But the focus group facility was pretty cool.

Then I spent a weekend in Solomons Island, Maryland.

In April I flew to Hartford to see my favorite cousins.

In May I went to Saratoga Springs to see Peter graduate from Skidmore.  Saratoga  Springs was nice, albeit a little horsey; but a pretty, quaint, charming town I enjoyed for four years during Peter’s college stay

Over Fourth of July weekend I went to Atlanta for a conference. I met lots of new friends.

In July I went to Martha’s Vineyard and stayed in Edgartown with my friend Judy. That was beyond fabulous, read about it here.

In August I went back to Martha’s Vineyard with my friend Kathleen and stayed in Oak Bluffs. We stopped in Falmouth, Mass and stayed with Susan; and then spent a night in New York on the way home.

In October we went to Memphis, which has grown on me since Franky started going to Rhodes College in the summer of 2014. I love the Peabody Hotel.  I’ve learned a lot of things about Elvis and the history of rock and roll.

Then I had a fabulous trip to Chicago with Judy.

Then in October/November there was the Amalfi coast trip. Mirabile dictu.

In December another superb weekend in New York
When is it not a fabulous time in New York?

So there we have it. Twelve months. Fourteen
trips.  That's about right.
